Pete Beebee, master choreograher of the medieval fight scene, popped into rehearsals for King Arthur yesterday to share his skills.
Which are mostly about dying in style.
Pete has found us some wonderful heavy medieval broadswords so that we can get that lovely ‘clang clang clang‘ of a great sword fight. Staged in-the-round, not sanitised and tucked away on a distant stage, fight scenes are so immersive it almost feels like you are part of the action.
Great fun, though Pete is always a pro and won’t let us actually kill each other in rehearsals.
